2008 Lowell Southeast Asian Water Festival Announced

The 12th annual Lowell Southeast Asian Water Festival will be held in Lowell, Massachusetts on Saturday August 16th, 2008.
Schedule of Events:
Boat Races, Performances and Food - 11:30 am to 6:00 pm. Experience the sights and sounds of a variety of traditional and contemporary performances that brings together the cultures of Cambodian, Laos and Thai. Visit the many ethnic food vendors setup along Lowell’s Merrimack River.
Ramayana - 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Angkor Dance Troupe (Visit the new website created by Angkor Dance Troupe for the cooking demo http://www.angkordance.org/programs.html), Natraj performing Arts of India and Somapa, a Thai dance company.
The Lowell Southeast Asian Water Festival is organized by its incorporators: the Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association, the Light of Cambodian Children, Lao Mutual Assistance Association, Thai Association of Boston, and Wat Buddhabhavana. Partners and sponsors include the Office of Cultural Affairs and Special Events - the City of Lowell, the Lowell National Historical Park, the Patrick J. Mogan Cultural Center, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Saints Medical Center, Greater Merrimack Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Lowell Fire Department, the Lowell Health Department, and the Lowell Police Department.
